Therefore puren
puren, based in Überlingen on Lake Constance, has been in business for over 50 years, making the medium-sized, internationally active group of companies with over 300 employees and its managing director Dr. Andreas Huther one of the pioneers in the field of rigid polyurethane (PU) foam technology.
The topic of innovation accompanied the founder and advisory board member of puren, Hans Bommer, from the very beginning of the company: In 1968, rigid polyurethane foam was virtually unknown in Germany. By chance, Hans Bommer became acquainted with the multifunctional and high-performance insulating material, and he quickly recognized its versatile applications. After some exploratory trips about the technical properties and manufacturing processes, he began to assemble the first PU rigid foam blocks in a kind of "workshop" and with only one other employee. The entrepreneurial spirit quickly bore fruit, and over the years the two-man operation grew into today's group of companies with several production and sales locations throughout Germany as well as a subsidiary in the Czech Republic, a sales office in Hungary and a joint venture in China.
As early as the 1970s, puren began processing production residues and developing the functional material purenit as well as oil and chemical binders for use on soil and water.
"Energy gains and pollutant reductions through insulation, heating and environmental technologies by means of innovative products".
The puren group's current field of activity is broad. The construction division covers the manufacture and sale of thermal insulation elements and systems for pitched and flat roofs, facades and floors through underground parking garage ceilings. The products, which are sold through specialist building materials dealers, are suitable for both new buildings and refurbishment projects and contribute to the thermal insulation of the building envelope. puren insulating materials provide high thermal performance with comparatively low material thicknesses and can help reduce heat losses through the building envelope. For many years, puren insulation systems have proven their worth both in private single-family and multi-family house construction as well as in public buildings, industrial and commercial construction.
In the industrial sector, complex applications require new and creative PU solutions time and again. Here, puren manufactures large-format rigid foam blocks with a wide variety of specific properties, which are further customized according to customer requirements. Whether blanks or molded parts for airship cabins, refrigerated vehicles, components for wagons and containers, window and door construction, shipbuilding or model making, there are virtually no limits to applications here. This even extends to the production of costumized molded parts for the construction of the Olympic Tower in Barcelona (designed by the world-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava) on the occasion of the 1992 Summer Olympics. The production and sale of oil and chemical binder also falls within this area.
The Überlingen-based BOMAT Heiztechnik GmbH also belongs to the puren group. Bomat is one of the leading international companies in the field of condensing boiler technology for oil and gas heating systems and cooperates with well-known companies in the heating industry. In addition, high-performance flue gas heat exchangers for an output range of up to 2,000 kW are manufactured and sold under the Profitherm brand.
Over the years, puren has been honored with numerous awards for its activities. For example, in 1997 the then Federal Minister for the Environment and former Chancellor Angela Merkel presented the "Recycling Award". BOMAT received the "Energy Oscar" in 1995. In 2004, puren received the Innovation Award of the State of Baden-Württemberg as well as the Innovation Award of the German Foamed Plastics Association. And in 2007, business graduate Hans Bommer received the Federal Cross of Merit, and puren was honored with the Qualitec Award from the Seatec trade fair in Carrara, Italy. And in 2012, there was another award for Hans Bommer: He received the Business Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
Since 1968, we have been using our knowledge and experience to develop and manufacture high-performance PU insulation materials. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries. Production residues generated during the manufacture and processing of rigid PU foam can be used in the manufacture of purenit functional materials. We combine creative ideas, flexibility and speed with many years of experience and high productivity. As a specialist in rigid PU foam technologies and high-performance insulation materials, we operate in markets throughout Europe.
At our production facilities, we manufacture PU insulation materials and purenit functional materials for:
Experience, know-how and innovative strength form the basis of our enormous product range. puren gmbh is successfully active in a wide variety of markets: construction technology, industrial products and environmental products - our modern company structures make us a high-performance system partner in the field of PU technology across all sectors.
We want to be even more cost-effective for our customers. That's why we are consistently expanding our leading position as a full-service systems provider in the field of PU rigid foam technology. Since merging the aprithan and endele brands under puren in 2005, we have been able to offer even greater consulting expertise and customer proximity.
New, extensive product ranges create even greater design diversity. More efficient structures result in faster planning and implementation. Networked production sites enable even better quality and optimized logistics. And most importantly: better processes create more time for each other. More time for you and your wishes.
